- Attention 6th-8th grades--The VFW is once again sponsoring the Patriot Pen essay contest for WMS students. The essay must be typed and between 300-400 words. This year's theme is "What A Veteran Taught Me About America." All essays are due TODAY. The first place winner will receive $100, second $75, and third $50. The 1st place winner will also receive the privilege of reading their essay during the Veterans Day Assembly. See your ELA teacher for more details.
- Picture retake day is Friday, October 16th. Stop by the office if you need a retake day form.
- Attention students! This year’s Veterans Day Assembly theme is Bridging Generations: Honoring Our Past, Protecting Our Future. We are holding an art contest to select the cover for our assembly programs. Think about how our veterans protect our nation, pass down their traditions, and connect with younger generations. Submissions are due to your school office by Wednesday, October 28. Show off your creativity and honor our heroes!
- 🎄 Merry Dairy Holiday Card Contest! 🎄Calling all student artists in grades 4–8th! The St. Louis District Dairy Council is hosting its 15th Annual Merry Dairy Holiday Card Contest. Your artwork could be featured on the council’s 2026 holiday card! Grand prize winners in three grade categories ( 3–5 and 6–8) will receive a premium gift basket, and their teachers will receive a gift card. Runners-up will also receive gift baskets, and People’s Choice winners will be selected through online voting. Artwork Requirements: Paper size: 11” wide x 8.5” tall, Landscape orientation. Include your name, grade, school name and phone number, and teacher’s name and email address on the back. Deadline: Entries must be received by Friday, November 13th to Mrs. Emig.
- The dance team is hosting a fall dance for 4th and 5th graders on Friday November 6th from 6-7:30 in the cafeteria! The theme will be Wacky Warrior, with a prize for the Wackiest Warrior! Admission is $5, with one free cup of soda, chips will be sold for $1 and glow sticks will be sold for $2. Grab your friends and come dance with us!
- Red Ribbon Week Committee will meet TODAY during lunch and recess. Austin Schulte, Brenna Bonsall, Jace Peters, Autumn Fofne, Camden Weh, Aria Szpila, Brenna Haselhorst and Lucas Crawford please grab your lunch and then head down to Mrs. Dorri's room.
- Veteran Family Slideshow: We are creating a special slideshow again this year to feature photos of veterans who are family members of our students (parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, siblings, etc.). If you have a veteran in your family you would like us to include, please email a clear, digital photo to ringlerl@wesclin.org by Friday, October 30th. Please include the following information with your photograph: Your student's name and school, The veteran's name, Their relationship to your student,Their branch of military service
