WHS Scholar Bowl’s CC tournament and Conference

On Monday, February 27th, The WHS Scholar Bowl Warriors traveled to Mater Dei High School to compete in the annual Clinton County Scholar Bowl Tournament. The tournament is comprised of the four schools within Clinton County: Mater Dei, Carlyle, Breese Central, and Wesclin, all facing off to see who will acquire the Clinton County Tournament trophy for that year. Mater Dei came out victorious, although the Warriors kept up with them until the final round. Despite the loss at the Clinton County Tournament, the Warriors didn’t lose hope as they still had another competition that week, regionals. The Warriors traveled again on Thursday, February 29th, to compete in the Cahokia Conference match. During the conference, the Warriors had to face Dupo, Salem, and lastly Columbia for the final. The Warriors came out in first place and as Cahokia Conference Champions. Senior varsity captain, Collin Henderson, said, ”I’m super proud of our team for taking our third consecutive Cahokia Conference championship. We’ve come a long way from my freshman year, and I’m excited to see what we can do in the postseason.”
